Mee siam or Siamese noodles is a dish that is popular in Malaysia and Singapore, and it is believed to have been inspired by Thai cuisine and flavors. Mee siam (name of this dish in Malay) is vermicelli in spicy gravy.
Here is the best “Mee Siam” recipe we have found so far. This is gonna really delicious.
Ingredients of Mee Siam
- It’s 300 g of rice vermicelli (meehoon) - soak in water for 5 minutes and drain.
- You need 300 g of prawns - peel and devein.
- Take 1 cup of beansprouts (peel both ends to get a crunchier bite texture).
- Make ready 1 cup of chives, cut into 3cm length.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of dried shrimps, wash and chopped coarsely.
- You need 2 pcs of firm tofu, slices (optional - I am not a big fan of tofu).
- Take 4 of kaffir lime leaves, shredded finely.
- Make ready 1/3 cup of cooking oil.
