Ingredients of Kaddu kofte with gravy
- Prepare 1/2 kg of kaddu.
- Prepare 3-4 tbsp of roasted gram flour.
- You need 1 of medium size onion finely chopped.
- Prepare 2-3 of green chillies chopped.
- You need handful of mint leaves chopped.
- You need 1/2 inch of ginger finely chopped.
- Take 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of garam masala powder.
- Take as per taste of Salt.
- Make ready as required of Oil for shallow fry.
- Take For of gravy-.
- You need 1 of large onion paste.
- Prepare 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
- Take 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Make ready 2 tbsp of coriander powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- Take as per taste of Salt.
- You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala powder.
- You need as required of Water.
- You need 3 tbsp of Oil.
I had never heard nor knew that a curry is made from bottle gourd koftas.Boil rice in a cup of hot water and add ½ tsp salt.Today's recipe is one such dish - lauki ke kofte which has bottle gourd in it but in a very tasty form.I personally prefer having simple lauki ki sabzi (bottle gourd A lot of people struggle to get the perfect gravy in kofta curry.
Kaddu kofte with gravy instructions
- First peel off the kaddu and remove it's seeds.then grated it with the help of grater. Now tightly squeeze 3-4 time the grated kaddu becoz it has lot of water. After squeezing it make sure that there is no water in it..
- Now add gram flour chopped onion,ginger,green chillies and mint leaves,red chilli powder, cumin powder,garam masala powder in this and add the salt in the last. mix well and make a good mixture..
- Now take a little portion of the mixture and make lemon size balls for kofte.prepare all the koftas.take a pan put some oil and heat it.shallow fry all the koftas on medium flame.keep aside.
- For gravy take a pan add 3 tblspn oil heat it now add onion paste and saute for 3-4 minutes then add ginger garlic paste saute for another one minute.then add coriander powder, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and add little water and saute.cooked the spices untill the oil separate.when the oil separated from the spice and it becomes aromatic add the salt and 1/2 cup water or according to thickness of yours choice of gravy. cooked for one boil. add garam masala powder.and turn off the flame..
- Now take serving bowl take some gravy in it. Put the koftas on it and pour some gravy upon the koftas.garnish with some coriander leaves and cream.(It's optional).
- Note– Never add the koftas into gravy directly bcoz they are very soft..
