Ingredients of Fish Molee
- Make ready 4 of medium pieces fish of any variety.
- Make ready 1 cup of 1st extract of coconut milk (thick).
- Make ready 1 cup of 2nd extract of coconut milk (thin).
- You need 1 of chopped onion.
- Prepare 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste.
- Take 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
- Make ready 2 of green chillies slitted.
- It’s 1/4 of th teaspoon turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1/4 of th teaspoon white pepper powder.
- Prepare 1 of tomato cubed.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- Take 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil or coconut oil.
- Take of To marinade fish.
- Take 1/4 of th teaspoon turmeric powder.
- Take 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Take 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to fry fish.
Fish Molee is a yummy dish which goes well with a number of main dishes.It is prepared by marinating fish pieces and then shallow frying them, followed by cooking the fried pieces in coconut milk.Meen molee made with coconut milk.We love coconut based curries in our house.
Fish Molee step by step
- Marinade fish pieces with salt and turmeric powder. I use rahu fish, you can use other kind of fish which has less bones..
- Shallow fry these fish pieces in oil until they change colour. Don't fry them till brown..
- Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan..
- Add cumin seeds, slitted green chillies and curry leaves..
- Saute for 1 minute..
- Add chopped onion and saute till they become translucent..
- Next add ginger-garlic paste and saute for more minute..
- Add turmeric powder and pepper powder along with 1 cup thin coconut milk. Keep flame in medium heat..
- Put the fish pieces, add salt, cover and simmer for 5-6 minutes..
- When the fish cooks completely add the thick coconut milk and cubed tomatoes. Always keep flame in medium heat or coconut milk may curdle..
- When the curry starts boiling check the seasoning and gravy. Add salt or more coconut milk if necessary..
- Remove from heat and serve immediately with any kind of rice..
