Malabari chicken curry instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder,fennel seeds powder,black pepper powder and salt..
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add sliced onion and fry till transparent..
  4. Add ginger garlic paste and tomato puree and mix well..
  5. Add chicken pieces and one tbsp water and fry in a low flame..
  6. Add cashew nuts paste and coconut milk and mix well..
  7. Add half cup of water and cover it..
  8. Cook 8 - 10 mins in a low flame..
  9. For tempering.
  10. Heat one tsp oil in a pan..
  11. Add black mustard seeds/rai,whole red chilli and switch off the flame. and add curry leaves..
  12. Temper the chicken in serving bowl..
  13. Serve hot with rice or chapatis..

Extra curry leaves can be wrapped and frozen for later use.I made this chicken curry for new year lunch along with ghee rice.We tried the Malabar Chicken Curry on a sunday.
