- You need 250 grams of Pohala fish.
- You need 25 grams of mustard seeds.
- Prepare 5 grams of cumin seeds.
- It’s 8 cloves of garlic.
- Take 1 tea spoon of turmuric powder.
- It’s to taste of Salt.
- Prepare 1 of big onion chopped.
- You need 4 of green chillies.
- You need 2 of big chopped tomatoes.
- It’s 1 of big potato, cut and fry.
- It’s as needed of Oil to fry.
- Make ready 2 spoons of coriander leaves.
- Take 1 tea spoon of panchfutan.
- It’s 1 of red dry chilli.
- It’s 1 tea spoon of chilli powder.
Pohala macha besara(Fried Pohala fish in tangy mustard gravy) step by step
- Wash the fishes properly and add turmuric powder and salt to it. Keep for 10 mins.
- Make a plain paste of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, 2 green chilli, garlic and half of the chopped onion.. Fry the fishes golden coloured..
- Heat a pan. Add 2 spoons mustard oil. Add red chilli and panchfutan, let it crack. Now add chopped onion And green chillies fry a little brown. Add mustard paste, fried potato and chopped tomato. Saute well. Now add turmuric powder, chilli powder, salt to it. Saute well.Add 200 ml water and let it boil for 10 min in Lower flame..
- Now add fried Pohala fishes and let it boil for 3 mins. We don't need much gravy in this curry. Add coriander leaves and serve it hot with steamed rice..
