- Prepare 2 cup of wheat flour.
- You need 1 1/2 cup of sugar.
- It’s 1 cup of ghee.
- It’s 50 gm of cashews.
- Prepare as needed of water.

- Take wheat flour and mix with water and make a dough. Then pour one litre of water and let the dough soak for 5-6 hours.
- After the dough is soaked, mix the dough in water until dough thoroughly dissolves in water and you get a milk like liquid as shown in the image below.
- Then separate liquid and the dough sediments using a strainer. In the remaining dough sediments add some more water and again dissolve and agin separate the liquid and sediments..
- Discard the dough sediments and then rest the liquid over night to ferment.
- The next morning you can notice the milk and like layer would have formed down and water will be in the upper surface. With a spoon remove the water and discard it.
- In the separate wheat flour milk add two cups of water and mix well.
- In a thick bottomed pan, add the wheat milk and mix well for 15/20 mins until it starts to thicken. All eyes and hands on the pan ! The tough game starts now ! You need to stir continuously without a gap!.
- Slowly it thickens after 20 or so mins add one cup of sugar. Once the sugar is added it gets little bit liquid consistency and again it starts getting thicker. Keep stirring.
- In an another pan, add half cup of sugar and stir it well until it caramelised and immediately add that caramelised sugar to the halwa. You can notice a visible colour change.
- Keep stirring for another 20 mins until is thicker and starts separating from the pan.
- Add ghee two tablespoons at a time and keep stirring until ghee separates from the halwa.
- At this point add fried cashews and give one final stir ! The whole process might take 1 hour 45 mins approximately.
- After it cools it will gets a little more thicker and the halwa is ready to serve !!.
