- It’s 250 g of moong dal (split green gram).
- It’s 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Take 1 1/2 cup of water.
- Make ready 3-4 of green cardamoms crushed.
- Make ready To taste of salt.
- You need 1/2 cup of freshly grated coconut.
- Prepare 1 tsp of pure ghee.
- It’s As needed of oil for deep frying.

Chandrakanti Pitha step by step
- Soak the moong dal in water for 3-4 hours. Then drain and blend to a smooth paste..
- In a pan bring water and sugar to a boil over medium-high heat. Turn the heat to low and stir continuously until sugar dissolves completely. Add salt and cardamoms, then coconut and ghee. Mix well..
- Next add the ground moong dal paste and keep stirring till the mixture becomes thick..
- Transfer the mixture to a greased flat dish or plate. Flatten it evenly as a layer and keep aside to cool for 15 minutes..
- Then cut the settled mixture into desired shapes with the help of a wet knife and keep aside..
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the cut shapes (pieces) on a low flame till they are golden brown..
- Thus Chandrakanti Pitha is ready for being served hot..
