Ingredients of Afghan rice&lamb in ketchup&mayo
- It’s of Basmati rice.
- Prepare of Cloves.
- It’s of Cardamon.
- You need of Scotch bonnet paste.
- Prepare of Garlic powder.
- You need of Onions.
- You need to taste of Seasoning.
- Make ready sticks of Cinnamon.

- Make ready of Mayonaise.

Rice is the centerpiece of an Afghan party, and people always pay attention to see that it is cooked properly and that there is plenty.This dish is traditionally made with lamb, but because many customers at catering events are vegetarian, it has been successfully adapted to a vegetarian dish.I at least double the spice amounts but have posted the original quantities.Transfer rice to a serving platter.
Afghan rice&lamb in ketchup&mayo step by step
- Soak basmati rice for 30minutes, wash and strain.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat, add oil,onions,a handfull cloves&cardamon,cinnamon sticks and stir fry untill onions becomes soft.
- Add the rice and stir for 5minutes or so.
- Add water that will be enough to cook it then,the scotch bonnet paste, maggi and allow to cook.
- Meanwhile wash ur lamb 🥩 cut onions,add crushed ginger,maggi,cloves,2 whole scotch bonnet(no need to cut) add water and allow to cook untill soft and tender.
- In a bowl mix 2serving spoon mayonaise+2tablespoon ketchup, 1 teaspoon scotch bonnet paste,2tablespoon dark soy sauce, 2knoor cubes&slice onions,ajino and garlic powder and add to the cooked lamp and cover for 10minutes.
- Ready 🍴.
- U can pair it with Arabian salad;.
- Cut lettuce,cucumber,tomatoes and set aside in a bowl.
- Mix olive oil lemon juice and garlic paste and pour the mixture over the salad and mix.
- Garnish with some olives.

Once oil is hot, add the shredded carrots.Cook rice well till water dries.Now add Afghani Pulao Masala (which made before) and mix well, & place meat with oil on top.Now put it on simmer (dum) #Tip: I always place a flat skillet (tawa) under the rice pot when I put rice on dum (simmer).It helps the rice to cook evenly and it prevents the rice from sticking from the pot.
