Ingredients of Masoor Dal with roti & chawal
- Prepare 1/2 kg of Masoor dal/lentils.
- Make ready 1/2 cup of oil.
- You need 2 of Tomatoes medium sized chopped.
- Take 1 of large Onion.
- It’s 5-6 of Green Chilli chopped.
- You need 5-6 of Garlic cloves chopped.
- Make ready 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1 of & 1/2 Red chilli powder.
- Take 2 tsp of Salt.
- Make ready of Fresh coriander 1 hand full.
- Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of All spices.
- Prepare 7-8 Glass of water.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Milk.
Masoor Dal with roti & chawal instructions
- Collect all ingredients…
- Wash the dal/lentils and strain the water out..
- In a pressure cooker, add the washed dal/lentils, onions, tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and water..
- Mix well and cover the pressure cooker with it's lid cook on high flame..
- Wait till the whistle starts moving, once it starts moving, time it for 15 minutes from then turn the stove off…..
- Remove the whistle, wait for the steam to settle down and then open the lid..
- It depends what type of consistency you prefer..
- If you want it to be thick, cook more and if you want it to be watery then cook less..
- Add the milk and mix well. Cook it for further 5 minutes..
- In a frying pan, add half a cup of oil, add garlic and cumin seeds and fry till golden..
- Once golden, add the green chillies and a hand full of fresh coriander…
- Then add it to the dal/lentils and 1 1/2 tsp of all spices and mix well..
- Serve hot with rice & roti…..
