Ingredients of Masoor Dal with roti & chawal

  1. Prepare 1/2 kg of Masoor dal/lentils.
  2. Make ready 1/2 cup of oil.
  3. You need 2 of Tomatoes medium sized chopped.
  4. Take 1 of large Onion.
  5. It’s 5-6 of Green Chilli chopped.
  6. You need 5-6 of Garlic cloves chopped.
  7. Make ready 1 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  8. You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
  9. Prepare 1 of & 1/2 Red chilli powder.
  10. Take 2 tsp of Salt.
  11. Make ready of Fresh coriander 1 hand full.
  12. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of All spices.
  13. Prepare 7-8 Glass of water.
  14. Prepare 1/2 cup of Milk.

Masoor Dal with roti & chawal instructions

  1. Collect all ingredients…
  2. Wash the dal/lentils and strain the water out..
  3. In a pressure cooker, add the washed dal/lentils, onions, tomatoes, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric and water..
  4. Mix well and cover the pressure cooker with it's lid cook on high flame..
  5. Wait till the whistle starts moving, once it starts moving, time it for 15 minutes from then turn the stove off…..
  6. Remove the whistle, wait for the steam to settle down and then open the lid..
  7. It depends what type of consistency you prefer..
  8. If you want it to be thick, cook more and if you want it to be watery then cook less..
  9. Add the milk and mix well. Cook it for further 5 minutes..
  10. In a frying pan, add half a cup of oil, add garlic and cumin seeds and fry till golden..
  11. Once golden, add the green chillies and a hand full of fresh coriander…
  12. Then add it to the dal/lentils and 1 1/2 tsp of all spices and mix well..
  13. Serve hot with rice & roti…..
