Ingredients of Ashta Pudding

  1. Prepare 1 of ltre milk.
  2. You need 1 cup of cold milk.
  3. Take 400 ml of whipping cream.
  4. It’s 225 gm of sugar.
  5. You need 50 gm of cornstarch.
  6. You need 2 tbsp of rose water.
  7. Make ready 1 tbsp of orange blossom water.
  8. Take 2 tsp of mastic gum powder.
  9. You need 30 gm of raisins (optional).
  10. It’s as needed of pistachio for garnishing.

Ashta Pudding step by step

  1. In a heavy bottomed pan add milk (1 litre), cream and sugar..
  2. Whisk until sugar has dissolved. Add raisins..
  3. Dissolve the cornstarch in one cup cold milk and mix until the cornstarch has dissolved..
  4. Add the cornstarch-milk mixture into the milk and cream and whisk continuously on medium heat.
  5. When the milk thickens to almost half add the mastic powder and continue whisking until the powder dissolves and the mixture has thickened considerably..
  6. Tun heat off,add rose water and orange blossom water. stir through..
  7. Pour in individual bowls or a pudding bowl. Garnish with pistachio powder..
  8. Refrigerate overnight. Serve chilled..
