Ingredients of Banarasi Tamatar Chaat
- Make ready 1 kg of tamatar.
- Prepare 5 of boil potato.
- It’s as required of Water.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of tamarind pulp.
- It’s 1/2 of lemon.
- Make ready 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Prepare 1 tsp of jeera powder.
- It’s 1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
- Make ready 1/4 tsp of Black Salt.
- Make ready 5 of Green chillies.
- Take to taste of Salt.
- You need 2 pinch of Hing.
- Make ready 1 tsp of Jeera.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Coriander powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Chaat masala.
- You need as required of Few leaves Coriander.
- Make ready As required of Ghee.
- Take 5-6 of Cashew nut.
- It’s as required of Namak paare or any namkeen.
- Take 1 of large piece ginger.
- Take 1 tsp of garam masala.

Banarasi Tamatar Chaat instructions
- Take a vessel on gas and add 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup water and let sugar melt..
- Add 1/4 tsp black salt, 1 tsp jeera powder, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 2 pinch of hing and mix well..
- Cook till you get sticky sugar syrup..
- Take a large pan and add little ghee..
- Fry few small pieces of cashew nut till they are golden in colour..
- Take out cashew nut along with ghee in small bowl.
- Add little ghee in the pan and heat it..
- Add 1 tsp of jeera,2 green chhily chopped and grated ginger.
- Add 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, salt to taste, 1 tsp garam masala and mix.
- Add roughly chopped tomatoes and add 1 cup of water and cook untill tomato becomes mashy..
- When tomato becomes mashy, add mashes 5 boil potaotes and mix well..
- Mix in the way tomato and potatoes all are combined and mashed well..
- Now add some water, 1 tbsp tamarind pulp, 1/2 lemon juice, little chaat masala and mix well.
- Cook for 5-10 min on medium flame..
- Taste and add the masalas accordingly..
- Now add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix well..
- Now take a chukkar or bowl..
- In the chukkar or bowl pour this chaat. On top add some sugar syrup like 1 tsp..
- Now add some fried cashew with little ghee in that..
- Add some namak pare and then garnish with some finely chopped coriander leaves..
- And serve hot..
