Namak Para also known as crispy nimki or namkeen pare. it's very crispy and crunchy namkeen for tea time. Its one of the most common snack you will find in.

Ingredients of Namak pare
- Make ready 1 cup of wheat flour.
- It’s 1 cup of maida/All-purpose flour.
- Make ready 1/2 cup of ghee.
- You need 5 tbsp of rava.
- Take 2 tsp of Ajwain(carom seeds).
- Make ready 4 tbsp of curd.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of baking soda.
- Make ready 1/2 tsp of sugar.
- You need 1 tsp of salt.
- Take As needed of Water for kneading the dough.
- Take 4 cup of Oil for frying.
I made this snack for Diwali but didn't get the Namak pare as it is called in Hindi is lightly seasoned with spices like ajwain [carom seeds] and.Namak para (or namakpare), also nimki or nimkin (or namkin) is a crunchy savoury snack eaten in the Indian Subcontinent.It is also referred as Mathri sometimes in some parts of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.Namak para is ribbon-like strips of pastry (made up of refined flour, oil and water).
Namak pare step by step
- Take a bowl,add wheat flour,maida and ghee.Knead the dough slowly till it becomes crumbly and ghee gets absorbed.To it,add ajwain,rava,baking soda,curd,sugar and salt.Add water slowly to make it a hard dough.The curd and rava will make it crispy and make it stay longer.Cover the dough with damp cloth for 30 minutes to rest..
- After resting,take dough in big size balls and roll like chappati but little thicker.Cut into your desired shapes.Fry them in medium hot oil till golden brown..
- The oil should be medium hot otherwise they will not fry properly.Fry them in small batches.Namak pare is ready..
