Shira-ae is a vegetable side dish mixed with mashed Tofu. It is a little different from regular salad since there is no dressing like oil and vinegar.

Ingredients of Shira-ae Mashed Tofu with Honey-Lemon Flavor
- Take 1/2 block of Tofu.
- Prepare 1/2 bunch of Spinach (or komatsuna).
- Take 50 grams of Carrot.
- It’s of Seasoning ingredients.
- Take 1 tbsp of lemon juice.
- Take 1 tbsp of white miso.
- Take 1 tbsp of Honey.
- It’s 1/2 tsp of Salt.
- It’s of Toppings (to taste).
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Extra virgin olive oil.
Puree in a food processor until smooth, then transfer to a bowl and set aside.Very creamy, rich, and delicious Tofu salad with spinach, with hint of sesame flavor :) It is a traditional Tofu dish we make at home.Of course you can find it at stores or restaurants, too.Great recipe for Shira-ae Mashed Tofu with Honey-Lemon Flavor.

- Blanch the spinach in boiling water for about 1 minute, cool in cold running water, squeeze out very well and cut into 4 cm to 5 cm lengths..
- Finely julienne the carrot and boil until soft - about 1 to 2 minutes - and drain..
- Microwave the tofu for 2 minutes, wrap in kitchen paper towels and drain off the excess water..
- Put the flavoring ingredients - lemon juice, miso, honey and salt - in a bowl and mix together. Add the tofu from Step 3 and mix well. You can do this in a food processor..
- Mix 1, 2 and 4 together and put on a serving dish; drizzle with extra virgin olive oil to taste..
