Semolina/Rwa Halwa Recipe. Suji ka halwa or Rawa halwa is an Indian dessert made with semolina/rawa, ghee (clarified butter) and sugar. It is one of the most loved and frequently made sweet pudding in India.

You can have Semolina/Rwa Halwa using 7 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

Ingredients of Semolina/Rwa Halwa

  1. It’s 200 gm of semolina/rava.
  2. Take 150 gm of Ghee.
  3. Prepare 200 gm of Sugar.
  4. You need 5 of Almonds (badam), sliced.
  5. Prepare 5 of Cashew nuts (kaju), chopped.
  6. Prepare 1/4 teaspoon of Cardamom Powder.
  7. Take 250 ml of water.

Stir in sultanas and slivered almonds.Sooji Halwa is one of the most common Indian sweet/dessert for any occasion a sooji halwa would never go wrong and for me I will make this halwa or Seviyan Kheer (Semiya Payasam) for most of the festive, occasions or for Naivedyam as these are simple recipe, every one likes it and also makes my work easy.With few ingredients always available in pantry we can make this halwa in no time.Suji Ka Halwa is one of the very famous deserts in North India.

Semolina/Rwa Halwa instructions

  1. Take a kadhai, heat ghee in a medium flame, add semolina, stir continuously using a spatula to avoid burning, roast it until golden brown.
  2. Roast it until brown.it will take 8-10 minutes.
  3. Set flame to low, and slowly add water, stir continuously to avoid lump. first, add water in a small quantity.
  4. Add sugar and cook until all water gets absorbed then add Cardamom powder.
  5. When it will look semi-solid consistency, add almonds and cashew.

Dry roasted semolina is cooked with water/milk, sugar, dry nuts and cardamom to get a soft fudgy texture.Suji Halwa can also be made with various seasonal fruits like Mango, Corn, Pineapple, Strawberry etc.Tir milk mixture into semolina; cook , stirring, until mixture thickens and leaves of pan.
