Ingredients of Indori poha
- Take of For Making the Poha.
- Prepare 2 of & ½ cups Poha.
- It’s 2 tbsp of Oil.
- Take 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds.
- It’s 1/4 tsp of Asafetida/Hing.
- Make ready 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- You need To taste of Salt.
- Take 2 of Green chilies – chopped.
- Take leaves of Few curry.
- Make ready of For the Garnish.
- It’s As needed of Jeeravan Masala.
- Make ready As needed of Lal teekha sev or Ratlami sev.
- Prepare 1 of onion Chopped.
- Make ready 1 of cilantro/Coriander chopped.
- Take 1 of potato.
- You need of Few peanuts.
- You need of Few greenpeas.
Indori Poha is a regional variation of popular Indian breakfast and street food 'Poha'.It owes its name to the central Indian city of Indore which is quite famous for its street food.Indori Poha is a type of flattened rice recipe that is likely to have originated from Indore.It is usually served with unique combination of Jalebi, Sev, Usal, sliced onions and fennel seeds.
Indori poha step by step
- Take poha in a large sieve. Rinse it gently with drinking water. Let it stand for a few minutes so that the excess water would drain. In the meanwhile, prepare the tempering for poha by heating oil in a skillet. Toss in the mustard seeds. Once they splutter, toss in the cumin seeds, curry leaves and let them sizzle..
- Add the asafetida. Add the green chilies. Finally, add the poha, potato,Peanut greenpeas,salt and turmeric. Mix well..
- Cover and cook for 5 minutes on low heat. The colour of the turmeric will darken. Poha is ready. Serve it hot onto a plate. Sprinkle a generous amount of jeeravan. Garnish with teekha sev,/normal sev, and onion. Squeeze some lemon juice to taste. Indori Poha is ready. Enjoy!.
