- You need 700 grams of Plain cooked rice.
- It’s 20 grams of Bonito flakes.
- Make ready 1/2 tbsp of Japanese dashi stock.
- Prepare 3 tbsp of Soy sauce.
- It’s 2 tbsp of White sesame seeds.
- It’s 1 of Sesame oil.
- Make ready 1 of enough to drizzle in step 6 Soy sauce.

- Prepare the measured ingredients..
- Add the dashi stock, soy sauce, and white sesame seeds to the bonito flakes. Mix together well..
- Add the mixture from Step 2 into the cooked rice..
- Shape the rice balls. I am using a mould to do this..
- Place a suitable amount of sesame oil into a pan and fry the rice balls on both sides..
- When they have browned, drizzle both sides with a bit of soy sauce..
- Turn to check that both sides have developed a delicious golden brown colour, and it's done!.
